How to Hide Belly Fat When Wearing Crop Tops

I’m sure there’s been times where you’ve wondered how women look so good in crop tops and how they manage to hide their belly fat. Wearing crop tops can definitely take time to get used to depending on how cropped they are and if you’re used to showing off some skin or not. You really have to build up the confidence to wear them.

I actually really like wearing crop tops depending on my mood and how cropped the shirt is. It took me awhile to get used to wearing crop tops since I have a bit of a pooch. However, I found some tips and tricks on how to style and wear crop tops to hide my belly fat and boost my confidence!

Here are some clothing items I use to help hide my belly fat and make my stomach appear slimmer.

High-Waist Bottoms

One of the reasons why I love crop tops are because I love high waist bottoms. I just think they go together perfectly and help my body look slimmer! Just think of high waist bottoms as spandex. High waist bottoms help hold all your belly fat inside and accentuate your hips and waist. High waist jeans or shorts always do the best at hiding my belly fat versus if I were to wear a high-waist skirt. Don’t get me wrong though, high waist skirts hide your tummy too, just not as well since they aren’t form fitting like jeans.

Flowy or Baggy Crop Tops

Form-fitting crop tops tend to expose your love handles and belly fat so if you aren’t a huge fan of form-fitting crop tops, try oversized or baggy crop tops. The oversized look will create the illusion of having a small torso and take attention away from your stomach.

Cardigans and Jackets

Ever felt insecure about your belly fat hanging out after eating a big meal and not having anything to cover it? Cardigans and jackets are great for hiding your belly fat. They also take attention away from your waist area and attracts attention to your outerwear. The length that works best at hiding your belly fat are long or oversized cardigans and jackets. The bigger, longer or colorful the outerwear is, the more attention it’ll attract, which means less attention on your belly fat!

Dark Crop Tops and Dark High Waist Bottoms

You might have heard that black or dark clothing makes you look skinnier. Well, it really is true. Dark clothing hides the creases and folds in your body. It makes everything look smooth and creates an outline of your body.

Black high waist jeans are my favorite because they make my stomach appear smaller and takes attention away from my stomach. If you are wanting to go with a dark colored crop top, I suggest wearing a black fitted crop top because it will outline your body better, creating that illusion of you having a slim waist.

I know that these are tips to help hide belly fat but just remember that you should also embrace your flaws and imperfections. Don’t think that you have to have a nice body in order to wear crop tops or whatever it may be. I see people of all sizes wear crop tops and they look amazing in them regardless of their body shape! It’s all about building confidence and loving yourself and your body, flaws and all!
