Woodenshoe Tulip Farm

This tulip farm is a really popular photography spot as it is one of the top Spring attractions in Oregon. They have 40 acres of tulips and over 200 acres of outdoor space and activities. There’s lots of photo opportunities here but I do want to mention that it does get busy at times (especially weekends) so I highly recommend going on a weekday or early in the morning.

Be aware that tickets must be purchased online in advance. They don’t sell tickets at the entrance anymore. Ticket costs will vary depending on which one you get.

While you’re there, you may spot tractors, giant gardening shoes and the famous windmill. These are all props and set-ups that people like to take photos with for fun!

  • Location: Woodburn, OR
  • Peak Bloom: Mid April
  • Admission: $15-$55 (tickets must be purchased online in advance!)
  • Parking: Free
  • U-Pick: Not Available but pre-picked flowers are available for purchase

Adelman Peony Farm

This peony farm has about 25 acres of peonies. There’s lots of cute photo spots all throughout the garden including the flower fields, the popular peony truck and their intimate flower garden located at the entrance of the farm.

It doesn’t get too busy here but I’d still recommend coming on a weekday or early in the morning just in case.

Schreiners Iris Garden

Located across the street from the peony garden is this beautiful iris garden. The moment I stepped inside this garden, I immediately felt like I was in some sort of whimsical fairytale garden.

This garden is very private and intimate and they make for beautiful photos! It does get busy depending on when you go. So, as I mentioned earlier, it’s best to go on weekdays or early mornings.

  • Location: Salem, OR
  • Peak Bloom: Early May to Late May
  • Admission: $5/person (Tickets must be purchased online in advance)
  • Parking: Free
  • U-Pick: Not Available but pre-picked flowers are available for purchase

Don’t forget to check out their iris flower field located outside of the garden. Its a bit of a walk but not too far.

Portland Japanese Garden

This Japanese garden is considered the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan and makes for beautiful photos! The garden looks beautiful whether the flowers are bloomed or not but because I love flowers and pops of color, I prefer to go during the Spring. The azaleas and flower trees here absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re a nature photographer or just want to capture casual photos.

You can purchase tickets in-person but I highly recommend purchasing them online to avoid long lines. Because the garden is located in Washington Park and across from the Portland Japanese Garden, this area tends to be pretty busy so be aware that parking might be limited.

  • Location: Portland, OR
  • Peak Bloom: Mid May to Late May
  • Admission: $15.95-$21.95
  • Parking: $ and limited
  • More Info: Portland Japanese Garden

International Rose Test Garden

Just across from the Japanese garden is the International Rose Test Garden. This garden has over 10,000 rose bushes and is a hot spot for both tourists and locals alike. You’ll find lots of photo opportunities here as there’s lots of space to explore. Don’t forget to snap some shots with the water fountain and gazebo!

Because the garden is located in Washington Park and across from the Portland Japanese Garden, this area tends to be pretty busy so be aware that parking might be limited.

Japanese American Historical Plaza

One of the first flowers to bloom in Oregon are the Japanese Cherry Blossom Trees located near the waterfront in Downtown Portland. Tourists, locals and photographers love coming here to enjoy the area and capture photos. It’s best to come on weekdays or early mornings since it does get busy.
